Kathy started Plan It With Me in 2009 after years of being told by friends and colleagues, "You should start a wedding business". Having been in the event industry for just over
10 years at that time, it took an episode of Bridezillas to finally inspire her to make it happen.  

 

That particular episode focused on a bride that wasn't a bridezilla, until all of the friends (and family) that she had assigned to help out on her big day, all flaked out. The worst part was watching the bride pick up trash while trying to hold her dress off the floor and crying. It was then that Kathy thought, "I can do this, help couples navigate the noise, breathe a bit easier and remain accountable to their budget all at the same time!" With that, Plan It With Me was born atop the foundational belief that everyone deserves a day that's all about them. To be heard, taken care of, educated during the process, and ultimately have their dream day brought to life.

To date, Kathy has executed more than 700 events and is certified by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute of Organizational Management.

What's your hidden talent?

I can tap dance. And no that's not a euphemism for
how I handle events. 

 

What's your favorite vacation spot?

Anywhere there's sand and sun. My number one spot is Bora Bora. Absolutely stunning!

What's your best piece of marriage advice? 

 Learn how to communicate honestly. If you can't talk to each other (about everything...even the tough stuff), it's going to be difficult to grow together as you change and develop individually.

With over 20 years of experience in the event industry, Lori brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to every project. From a keen eye for design to her exceptionally strong organizational skills, event planning has always been her passion. In 2007, she joined forces with Kathy, and together, they have become an unstoppable planning team. Having successfully executed more than 150 events, they continue to push boundaries and exceed expectations. "If you make the decision to Plan It With Me, it'll be the second best decision of your wedding planning journey. The first being that you said "yes" to your partner of course!"

What's your hidden talent?

I love to sing..and from time to time,
have been known to do so professionally. 

 

What's your favorite vacation spot?

The beach, spa, casino, shopping, or anywhere there's a glass of Prosecco. Find me a spot with all five of those, and I'm in! 

 

What's your best piece of marriage advice? 

 Learn to forgive. Mistakes will be made and that's okay, just own the error when it's yours and forgive when it's theirs.

Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, Mandi made her way to Texas to attend Texas Tech University, where she quickly found a love for leadership, creativity, and bringing people together. During college, she became heavily involved in sorority life and served as Vice President of Recruitment for the Panhellenic Council, where she helped plan and execute large-scale recruitment events and experiences for thousands of women. It was through these experiences that Mandi realized just how much she loved the details behind making a big event come together.

 

After graduating from Texas Tech, she knew she wanted to turn that passion into a career and found her way into the wedding industry. Enter her new career at Plan It With Me!

What's your hidden talent?

I've got two! 1) I know how to properly analyze a crime scene, thanks to my degreen in criminology and forensic science.
2) I am fluent in American Sign Language. 

 

What's your favorite vacation spot?

As a previous Cast Member, I must say Disney World! A bucket list trip is to Hong Kong Disneyland.

What's your best piece of marriage advice? 

While I"m not yet married, I would say, never stop dating. Keep making time for one another, trying new things together and finding reasons to have fun no matter how long you've been together.

Raised in Dallas, Fatima brings warmth, creativity, and precision to her work. A proud mom of three beautiful girls and wife to a very supportive husband who believes in all her “crazy” ideas, Fatima understands the value of teamwork both at home and in her career. I can read people so well it’s like I have mood radar—if something’s off, I’ll pick it up faster than a dropped microphone at a wedding.

Anywhere I can connect with nature, unplug from the noise, and recharge.

 

What's your best piece of marriage advice? 

Keep communication open, laugh often, and remember to fight for each other—not with each other.

Cole is also a Dallas native, born and raised. A recent graduate of Texas A&M, with a degree in Business Marketing, and formerly in Sales and Marketing, Cole brings a wealth of knowledge to our team. While sales, marketing, and social media have always come easy to Cole, it's event planning that has found a home in his heart.

Since I'm not married yet, I'll go with what I keep hearing. "Communication is key", and that clearly makes a lot of sense, so let's go with that until I can officially give my own personal input. 

Kyleigh is a passionate individual who found her calling, early in life, in the wedding industry. Fascinated by the magic and emotions of weddings, she quickly learned she had a natural talent for events and turning chaos into order. Kyleigh finds joy in crafting special and seamless events, ensuring every detail reflects the couple's unique story. "For me, working with weddings isn't just a job, but rather a delightful journey in celebrating love's most beautiful moments."

I am very creative and I love putting it to use whether it's for school, work, home or just for fun.

 

What's your favorite vacation spot?

Anywhere that I can experience a new adventure!

 

What's your best piece of marriage advice? 

Be each other's best friend! That means having fun together but also dealing with the bad times when they roll around. No one is perfect, and working together toward a successful marriage is key.

Laycie has a passion for crafting experiences that leave a lasting impression for clients and guests alike. With a background in event planning, catering, and customer relations, you can be sure you are in good hands when Lacey is part of your planning team. "I love getting to know each couple, understanding their vision, and making sure every detail comes together seamlessly. Building genuine relationships and helping people celebrate life's biggest moments is what I enjoy most."

We first met Laycie when she was an Event Manager for a popular wedding venue in Dallas. As a preferred planner at this venue, we had the pleasure of working with Lacey on a myriad of events throughout the last couple of years. We all quickly connected over our shared love of events, thoughtful planning, and creating intentional experiences for our clients. What started as a wonderful vendor-to-vendor relationship, has now turned into making Laycie part of our team. At any given event, you might find her running the show, assisting another team member or handling any number of behind-the-scenes details.

What's your hidden talent?

I can pick things up with my feet....a multi-tasking skill that's useful as a mom but probably not as a planner. 

 

What's your favorite vacation spot?

Anywhere that there is water and sand. I think we've got a trend here among the team!

What's your best piece of marriage advice? 

Marriage isn't always 50/50. Through different season that can be 80/20 or even 95/5. The key is to make sure that neither of your "tanks" are empty at the same time. It is a partnership that requires giving extra support when your partner needs to rest and reset.

Katie was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, and attended Texas A&M University, where she met her now husband. After completing her degree, she returned to Dallas to pursue a career in the corporate marketing sector. It was during this time that she got engaged, and met Kathy, and quickly became a Plan It With Me bride! “While working closely with Kathy during the wedding planning process, I discovered a true passion for event planning.” Since then, Katie has dedicated herself to creating joyful and unforgettable experiences through wedding planning and design.

Don’t forget to laugh and enjoy time together. Marriage can be hard, but it is truly one of the greatest gifts of life. You have the opportunity to be 100% yourself with another person, and it’s so special. Be weird, giggle together, and love life with your best friend & spouse.

As you may have guessed, Russell is Kathy's husband and has been an integral part Plan It With Me since the beginning. With nearly two decades of project management expertise in the TV and film industry, and more than 10 years as a building inspector, Russell thrives on the technical aspects of large-scale events. If you see him at an event, then you know it's a big event with lots of technical moving pieces. He's there to keep compliance and ensure everything is running smoothly.

What's your hidden talent?

Researching and problem-solving. I love to dig into a topic, learn as much as I can, and share that knowledge. If it means I get to problem-solve along the way, that's just a bonus!  

 

What's your favorite vacation spot?

Wherever my wife is...

 

What's your best piece of marriage advice? 

You've got to talk to each other. Address concerns or issues early...nothing good comes from holding it all in. Oh, and never tell your wife "she's crazy" or "calm down"....that never works.

Willie and Boss are our dynamic duo behind all the tail-wagging fun at Plan It With Me, and the official company mascots! They love nothing more than crashing meetings with their enthusiastic barks and joyful antics, making every day at the office a little more exciting. Whether they’re chasing their tails or demanding belly rubs, they remind us to keep the fun in our planning. Their playful energy is just what we need to keep the creativity flowing and the smiles coming. So, don’t be surprised if you hear some barking in the background—it’s just Willie and Boss ensuring everything is pawsitively perfect!

What's your best piece of marriage advice?

Communicate and Mark your Territory: Bark your heart out if you have to, communication is key. And don't be afraid to lift a leg every now and then...marking your territory in the dog world is a good thing. Take Walks Together: Exploring the world side by side keeps bonds strong and tails wagging. Don't Hold Grudges: If your partner steals your favorite toy, forgive and forget—there's always another squeaky to chase.
